Keynote by Maarten Bogaerts: Protocol and Etiquette – an inseparable partnership in event organising
Mr. Maarten Bogaerts started his hospitality career over twenty years ago in Belgium. He started out as a cook and worked his way up to the best restaurant in the country, with three Michelin stars. After some time in this high-class kitchen, he realised he craved the human interaction that the waiting staff had with the guests and so he decided to move into service from there. He has worked for five years in this restaurant and learnt about service at the highest level from the best in the business.
Always aiming for even higher levels of service, Maarten became the Hotel Butler of the Conrad Brussels Hotel, at that time the only venue to offer this service in the Benelux region. Over the course of five years, he served over one hundred different high level personalities, including Royals, Heads of States, businessmen and celebrities.
A great honour was given when Maarten was invited to work for the Belgian Royal Family as Butler, from which moment his career as a private Butler started. Later on, Maarten went on to serve 2 other Royal families, managed one of the biggest Embassy residences in Belgium and started his first company, providing bespoke services for private individuals, Butler services and consulting and training in the hospitality sector worldwide.
Since 2012, Maarten has been living and working in Russia, advising private clients locally and abroad, while also creating and implementing programs for high-level hospitality professionals.
